Thomas Smith
A Life of Service, Compassion & Advocacy
Thomas Smith is a retired paramedic, a father of two, a grandfather of five, and soon to be a great-grandfather. He started working in the emergency services when he volunteered at local rescue and fire departments at the age of 18. This experience brought out a lifelong commitment to saving lives and even helping families through their darkest times.
Thomas worked in the emergency medical field in numerous ways, such as a first responder in a nuclear power plant, as he pursued his studies in the next few decades. He also obtained an EMT certification and an Associate Degree in Paramedicine.
In his career, he has experienced a lot of hard times, yet the cases that he could never forget were those related to infants and children who were left unattended. Listening to the radio, answering real-life incidents enlightened him to a truth that few have realized:
In the United States alone, approximately 350 babies are abandoned each year, and thousands all over the world.
It was these tragedies that prompted him to start researching, writing, and finally writing Abandoned Infant. Based on life experience and the impact of his mother, who is a psychologist and an author of published works, Thomas employs storytelling to create awareness, educate or teach, and open parents and children to open communication.
In the present day, Thomas remains an Outreach Minister with Dadsmark Ministries, whereby he provides counseling to families and promotes safe and caring solutions to vulnerable babies and adolescents.
